New ‘Fantastic Beasts’ poster teases a new era

Who else is excited for this November?

A brand new ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ poster invites audiences to a new era of the Wizarding World.

The poster sets the film’s protagonist, New Scamander, against a bright backdrop of 1920’s New York City. He stands at the edge of a damaged building, presumably destroyed by some sort of beast.

Check it out:

The movie, written by Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, will portray Scamander’s visit to New York City. Scamander is a magizoologist and an expelled Hogwarts student. Things go wrong when the beasts in his magical suitcase get loose and rampage through New York, causing problems for the American wizarding community. The movie is set in the same universe as Harry Potter’s story, only this one will take place in 1926.

In addition to the poster, Warner Brothers announced that something “fantastic” is on its way:

It’s believed that the announcement has something to do with the YouTube community. The official ‘Fantastic Beasts’ Twitter account spent the last day posting portraits of famous YouTubers like Tyler Oakley set in the Wizarding World. The YouTube conference VidCon is taking place this weekend in Anaheim, California from Thursday to Saturday.

This upcoming VidCon will be the first to feature Hollywood exhibits, according to The New York Times. Warner Brothers is included on the roster and is said to be planning “an elaborate stunt” for ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’.
