Just officially announced over on the Shadowhunters TV twitter page, Katherine McNamara will be our new Clary Fray! Clary is the main character of the book and the TV show, so it comes as no surprise that fans all over the world have been eagerly anticipating this casting announcement since the day that the show was first officially green-lit.
Kat appeared in the mega-star movie New Years Eve in 2011, is perhaps most known for her role in the Disney Channel Original Movie Girl vs. Monster in 2012, and will feature in the upcoming YA book-to-movie adaptation of The Scorch Trials, sequel to The Maze Runner!
Clary plays the central role in Shadowhunters, learning that her entire life has been a lie and that she is a Shadowhunter, part of a secret race of beings born with both human and angel blood. When her mother is kidnapped, her entire life is changed and she is thrown head-first into a world of demons, vampires, werewolves, and all manner of danger.
Kat joins the cast alongside Dominic Sherwood (Jace), Emeraude Toubia (Isabelle), and Alberto Rosende (Simon).
