Disney Hyperion has announced that they will be redoing the covers to the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series by Rick Riordan–and the first cover has been unveiled!
The scene on the cover comes from an iconic moment in the book. In fact, fans may notice the similarities between it and its original. Check it out below!
The covers are being redesign by artist John Rocco (check out his website–he’s got some amazing artwork/book covers!). Rocco is the original cover artist, so it’s cool to see his new take on the book cover after years have passed!
Rick Riordan had the following comments about the makeovers:
I think getting a fresh wardrobe change every decade is not unreasonable. 😀 Plus the news ones are by John Rocco, the same artist.

I was skeptical too. Then I saw John’s new covers, and I said, “WOW!” Hopefully you guys like them too. Will be revealed next week on FB.

We’re eagerly awaiting the release of the next cover, Sea of Monsters!
