Have you ever hoped for a Divergent musical? Well even if you haven’t, we’ve got news for you! In a new YouTube video, Starkid writers Nick and Matt Lang announced that they are working on a production of ‘A Very Divergent Musical’!
Starkid is known for its musical parodies, the most famous being ‘A Very Potter Musical’. In their latest production, Starkid did a spoof on Disney’s ‘Aladdin’ in the production of ‘Twisted’.
“We were in the theater watching the [Divergent] movie when we both realized that this stuff is gold,” says Nick Lang. “There were so many cheesy one-liners and the Dauntless characters were so brainless that we both looked at each other and said, ‘Musical!'”
While they’re still working on the first draft, it sounds like they already have loads of ideas up their sleeves!
“We’re pretty sure we want Joe Walker as Tris,” says Matt. “And if we can clear his schedule, we’re hoping to get Darren [Criss] back to play Four. Lauren [Lopez] already volunteered to do Kate Winslet’s character, Jeanie.”
