Hey, Initiates! As we stated earlier this week, we can’t wait until Allegiant hits shelves! So we’re counting down the days until Allegiant and one of the ways we’re doing it is by posting “fun” blog posts to get everyone excited for the last book! There should be eight in total by the time we reach Allegiant. So what’s up for our first week? REACTIONS TO DIVERGENT.

There’s a reason you like, Divergent, right? It might be the characters, themes, scenes, awesome action sequences (or… kisses…? Wait, what?) Well have you ever considered that all of those big general things you love are made up of the small little things that build the plot? We decided that we’d pick out some of our favorite little moments from the first book by Veronica Roth, Divergent, and post how we feel most fans would have/do react to them when reading the book!

CAUTION: While we’re only giving a single reaction for each item listed, please be aware that the results vary!

DIVERGENT SPOILERS AHEAD!

So let’s start going through the book!

(“There is one mirror in my house…”)

When Tori tells Tris that she’s “Divergent” and you’re like…

what-does-that-mean

When you realize that everyone has to cut themselves to choose their faction and you’re like… “I don’t want to be next…”

disgusted

When Tris has to jump off a train AND A BUILDING and you’re like “PARKOUR? I WANNA TRY!!”

When Eric’s picking on Al and you’re like “Dude. Not cool.”

And then Tris proves them all wrong by letting them throw knives at her. She totally pwnz them.

But speaking of Eric and jerks… Might as well throw Peter in the mix. Every time he does something you’re like…

what-is-your-problem

And then Edward gets his eyes poked out…

shocked(Be honest. You know you did this.)

And at this point of the book you’re just like…

pass-out

But that’s okay because then the relationship starts to develop between Tris and Four and you’re like, “Oohh, they like each other!”

bashful

On the other side of things, Al gets totally rejected and you feel really bad for the guy.

rejection

But then he totally kidnaps Tris and… yeah… You’re not feeling very bad for the guy anymore.

MAD

But if you’ve read the book, then you know what happens to him shortly after and… you go back to feeling bad. And sad.

Then shortly after: WHEN TRIS AND FOUR KISS!!!!!111!11111111111!!!!!!!!

When you find out that Jeanine was right about Marcus abusing his son.

And then there’s the whole mind control thing and you’re like… “OH SNAP.”

Tris’s parents.

crying

“I have no home, no path, and no certainty. I am no longer Tris, the selfless, or Tris, the brave. I suppose that now, I must become more than either.”

You’re exhausted upon reading the book because you feel like you’ve just ridden a crazy roller coaster.

exhausted

Oh, by the way. There’s a sequel.
