FALSE RUMOR: Meaghan Martin cast as Susan Black in ‘Insurgent’

UPDATE: Sorry guys! It looks like this was a false alarm. We got in touch with our contact at Summit and they sent us the following:

Too bad! We were having fun speculating!

Although we’ve not yet received any official announcement from Summit (at least to my knowledge), it appears that Meaghan Martin (‘Camp Rock’) has been cast to play Susan Black in ‘Insurgent’. In addition to her casting, it appears that Lindsey Elizabeth (‘Gone Girl’) will be playing a “young Natalie Prior.”

The news comes after a savvy Divergent fan noticed the additions to the IMDB cast page of ‘Insurgent’. They then took to Twitter to tweet the following:

Susan Black is a minor character who appears in all three Divergent books. She’s most noted for her crush on Caleb.  She belongs to the Abnegation faction.

As for the role of a “young Natalie Prior,” we don’t remember a younger version of Tris’s mom appearing in the book.  However, we do know that Tris spends a good amount of time in Allegiant reading her mother’s journals.  Is it possible that a piece of that story arc will be implemented into ‘Insurgent’?

We’re still waiting for an official response from Summit to confirm this news.  This is technically a rumor, but the fact that it’s on IMDB makes us think that this is the real deal.
