‘Fantastic Beasts’ trailer unveils creatures and characters

“I want to be a wizard.”

Warner Bros. dropped a brand new ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ trailer at San Diego Comic-Con, offering a larger glimpse at both the creatures and characters of the film.

The trailer focuses on the main plot of the story. Tensions between the Wizarding and Muggle (“No-Maj”, in America) worlds are rising after magizoologist Newt Scamander sets a number of creatures loose in 1926’s New York City.

Watch it below:

While we’ve been briefly introduced to characters from the trailers before, this one offers a better look at some key players in this story. Of note are Percival Graves (Collin Farrell), Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), Jacob Kowalski (Dan Fogler) and Seraphina Picquery (Carmen Ejogo). On top of that, we get a couple shots of some of the mayhem and destruction the creatures cause in New York.

I Want to Be a Wizard

‘Fantastic Beasts’ is an original story by author J.K. Rowling. It’s set in the same world as her Harry Potter books and movies–only about 60 years earlier in the 1920’s.

Fans are eager for ‘Beasts’ as it’ll be the first glimpse into the American Wizarding World, as the Harry Potter books were set in 1990’s England.

In preparation for the film, Rowling has penned a number of pieces on the American Wizarding World, including the founding of American school Ilvermorny. A brand new poster for the film was released yesterday as part of Warner Bros. Comic-Con event which is currently taking place.

‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ soars into theaters this November.
