Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

New title. New characters. New release date. Find out more about Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald.

Wands at the ready!

Early this morning, the Official Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them twitter account announced the title of the second film in the Fantastic Beasts franchise, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. The film is set to be released in exactly ONE YEAR (I’m kind of excited, if you couldn’t tell) from today.

Fans were treated to a sneak peak at the cast for the next film, including some familiar faces (Jacob, Queenie, Newt and Tina) as well as some new faces and characters who were briefly mentioned in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, such as Newt’s older brother, Theseus, and Leta Lestrange, a former close friend of Newt’s.

Pottermore has also not only provided fans with an incredible amount of information on the characters we’ll encounter in the next film, but a collection of all the information we have so far about the second film.

Things we can expect to see in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

  • A young Dumbledore
  • Nicolas Flamel
  • A wizarding circus
  • A new magical curse
  • Teenage versions of Newt, Leta, Dumbledore and Grindelwald

From left to right: Jude Law, Ezra Miller, Claudia Kim, Zoe Kravitz, Callum Turner, Katherine Waterstone, Eddie Redmayne, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol and Johnny Depp.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald will be out in theaters on November 16, 2018.

A fangirl with too many fandoms and not enough time. Lover of tea, baking, traveling and cats. “Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?” ― L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables
