We have the Red Queen Book 3 title and release date! The reveal has gotten everyone worked up over Maven’s role in this next book.

The secret is out! Epic Reads revealed the the Red Queen Book 3 title earlier this week on their blog. The title reveal set fans into a fury of theorizing.

Victoria Aveyard’s third Red Queen book will be King’s Cage. The release date is set for February 7, 2017 (a year from the release of Red Queen Book 2, Glass Sword).

Red Queen Book 3 Title: King's Cage

What does the title mean for Red Queen Book 3?

Fans jumped straight into theorizing the meaning of the title. The chatter is surrounding Maven Calore, the current king of Norta. The title could be in reference to…

The conclusion of Sword saw Mare as Maven’s prisoner. Might the “King’s Cage” be a nod to her physical and metaphorical situation as Maven’s prisoner? Or maybe Aveyard will spin the tables by making Maven the prisoner at some point in this book?[/su_expand]

We do know that Maven is expected to play a much larger role in this book than the past ones, even if we’re not exactly sure what Victoria Aveyard has up her sleeve. When a fan asked the author if “Maven [will] make a bigger appearance in RQ3 compared to GS?” she responded with a “YES.”

We’re curious to see what might come of Maven, Mare and the rest of the characters in this next installment.

WHAT DO YOU THINK THE TITLE MEANS? LET US KNOW IN THE COMMENTS.

The cover of King’s Cage will be revealed this upcoming Tuesday, June 28th.
