We’ve known for a while that Victoria Aveyard is working on new short stories set in the Red Queen world, but today fans were fed a few more details to tie them over until the collection’s release.
For starters, it looks like the extra content included with the short stories will continue to expand the Red Queen world.
“I just got to name a territory in the Prairie lands [sic] FOURSKULLS,” Aveyard tweeted on Wednesday. “Any guesses as to where it might be in modern day America?”

We’re guessing South Dakota’s Mount Rushmore. We weren’t the only ones either.

Aveyard also confirmed that the Red Queen short story collection will be available in print as well as eBook format. She’ll even hit the road to go on tour.
The Red Queen short stories collection was announced shortly after the publication of Aveyard’s latest novel, War Storm, which completed the Red Queen series. Aveyard revealed the short story titles in an Instagram post last June. It looks like there’ll be five stories — Iron Heart, Fire Light, World Behind, Fare Well and Last Pages.
Fans should expect the collection sometime next Spring, according to an interview Aveyard did after War Storm‘s release. Once she’s finished the short stories, she plans to begin writing a YA fantasy series.
