Great news! Lady Midnight, the first installment in The Dark Artifices, a new series in Cassandra Clare’s Shadowhunters universe, has debuted at No. 1 on USA Today’s Best-Selling Books List!
Cassie spoke to USA Today about the book coming only months after Shadowhunters debuted, but does not credit the show with this particular book’s success. But more likely, a loyal fanbase that’s responsible for another successful debut of her new series.
“I think it is organic,” she said, “and that is what I am happy about. The books started ten years ago [with City of Bones] and built in sales over the years. That was happening before the TV show.”
