The Children’s Choice Book awards are currently underway and Rick Yancey’s The 5th Wave is currently winning in the BOOK OF THE YEAR category.  The awards are determined by the number of votes a book receives from the site’s visitors.

The 5th Wave is going up against some pretty strong and popular titles.  Among them are Veronica Roth’s Allegiant and Cassandra Clare’s Clockwork Princess.  Yet regardless of some of fan power behind these other titles, The 5th Wave is currently in the lead with (at the time of the writing of this article) 54% of the votes.  Allegiant is trailing behind at 31%.

We’re crossing our fingers that The 5th Wave will be able to make it to the end! Be sure to head over to the site and cast your vote!

Thanks to The 5th Wave Source for the heads up!
