Marvel and Scholastic launch original graphic novel line

The new graphic novels launch in 2021.

Assemble!

Marvel is teaming up with Scholastic to publish original graphic novels featuring superheroes Miles Morales, Kamala Khan and Shuri, among others.

“These middle grade OGNs are the perfect next step to bring more readers in with the visual storytelling Marvel fans know and love,” Sven Larsen, vice president of licensed publishing at Marvel, said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to build our collaboration with Scholastic and tell brand-new stories that represent the world around us, both through our characters and the creative teams behind them. We can’t wait to introduce you to this next chapter for Marvel’s heroes.”

The new line will kick off Spring 2021 with Miles Morales: Shock Waves by Justin A. Reynolds. That novel will follow Miles in a new story and will be illustrated by artist Pablo Leon. Books about Kamala Khan, written by Nadia Shammas, and Shuri, written by Roseanne A. Brown will follow.

The books will be published under Scholastic’s Graphix Media banner. The partnership follows the prose partnership that the two companies announced earlier this year.

While the graphic novel line is still several months out, you can read the book that launched Marvel and Scholastic’s partnership, Shuri: A Blank Panther Novel by Nic Stone, now.

I read, fangirl and sing a lot. Harry Potter is my absolute favorite.
