With a great opening weekend behind it, ‘Divergent’ looks to be on the track of becoming Lionsgate’s next most profitable franchise. Lionsgate continues to have immense luck with The Hunger Games franchise and made a considerable amount of money off the Twilight franchise.
Below is a brief look at opening weekend numbers for some of the more highly anticipated young adult novel adaptions courtesy of Businessweek and IMDB.
‘Divergent’ fared far better than Percy Jackson , Ender’s Game and Vampire Academy as well as The Mortal Instruments which isn’t included in this number set.
