Earlier this year, the news of an ACOTAR novella dropped. Then, this Thursday, Sarah J. Maas fans were treated to the exciting news of a tittle announcement on the author’s Instagram.
The title of the new book will be A Court of Frost and Starlight, and is due to be released in May 2018.
“It’s a bit longer than a novella, but not a full length book,” Maas writes. The novel is not part of the original trilogy, nor is it the beginning of the greatly anticipated spin-off series. The story “bridges the first three books and the upcoming spinoff novels” and takes place a few months after the events of A Court of Wings and Ruin.
Sarah J. Maas also provided a little synopsis online, which is as follows:
“Feyre, Rhys, and their close-knit circle of friends are still busy rebuilding the Night Court and the vastly-changed world beyond. But Winter Solstice is finally near, and with it, a hard-earned reprieve. Yet even the festive atmosphere can’t keep the shadows of the past from looming. As Feyre navigates her first Winter Solstice as High Lady, she finds that those dearest to her have more wounds than she anticipated–scars that will have far-reaching impact on the future of their Court.”
There will even be multiple perspectives within the novel – and not just Feyre and Rhys!
