The holiday season is the perfect time to sit by the fire and read a good book! Whether you need to unwind after a hectic couple of weeks of shopping, exams, or cooking and baking — everyone could use with a nice winter read.
Here are the Bookstacked team’s favorite holiday reads that you might want to pick up during the season.
This has become somewhat of a traditional Christmas read. Set at Christmastime, Manhattan. It follows Lily and Dash as they send each other on wild adventures during the holiday season through a red moleskin notebook. For me, it is the perfect Christmas read because it deals with both the ups and downs of Christmas – and has a wonderful romantic element that leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy inside.

This book perfectly captures the spirit of Christmas through family, friends, and love! Sierra’s family are proud owners of a Christmas tree lot in California, where they spend their holiday season every year. It’s fun reading about this family and how their holiday season stays busy yet simple, it felt special than other holiday books I have previously read. There are a few twists that keep this an interesting story, but overall it’s a light read that will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy by the end!

This book is the perfect Christmas read. What better way to get into the holiday spirit than to read a story about a world that hasn’t celebrated Christmas in a years?! You get to celebrate the holiday with the Narnians, many of whom are celebrating it for the first time in their lives. We even get to meet Father Christmas as he gives presents to the Pevensies. We have snow, cocoa and candy. And of course, the story is one about family and friendship. It’s the perfect read for a cold weather night!

What better way to capture the magic of the holidays than reading a story filled with magic? J.K. Rowling’s Philosopher’s Stone (Sorcerer’s Stone in America) is a modern-day classic and is nostalgic for so many readers. Who can forget those binge-reading sessions during winter breaks — or those Harry Potter movie marathons during the winter season? Jim Kay’s re-imagining of Rowling’s story makes the magic all the more real. It’s perfect for all fans — young and old!

What will you be reading? Don’t forget to grab some cocoa!
