Rick Riordan offers update on Percy Jackson TV series

Disney released its first look at the upcoming TV show.

Some good news for Demigods looking forward to the Percy Jackson TV series: the pilot episode of the first draft is complete.

Rick Riordan himself is penning the script. According to a recent post on his website, he says he’s submitted the first draft of the pilot and is now in the process of revising it, after receiving some positive feedback from the folks at Disney.

“Just as with writing an essay for your teacher or writing a book for your editor, nothing is ever perfect on the first, second, or third draft,” he said. “You have to do multiple revisions to get it right! And it is absolutely critical that we take our time to get the pilot episode correct, because it sets the tone and pace for the entire series.”

This is just the latest tidbit of news for Percy Jackson fans. A placeholder title card was unveiled at least week’s Disney investor Call.

While only a placeholder, it’s neat to see the Percy Jackson logo animated in front of John Rocco’s beautiful artwork. It’s the first bit of official content we’ve received since Disney picked up the show.

Riordan said he’s waiting to hear back from Disney’s top execs as he continues to field feedback. He also answered some top questions he’s received recently, including questions about casting.
