EW has given us our first look at the ‘Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials’ graphic novel. The graphic novel reportedly isn’t a comic version of James Dashner’s book, rather a prelude to the film which is set to be released this September.
According to EW BOOM! Studios will be producing the graphic novel. According to them, the book is meant to “illuminate the lives and backgrounds of several characters featured in the second movie.”
These stories are being written by the film’s director and writer, Wes Ball and T.S. Nowlin as well as Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly. It’ll be illustrated by Marcus To, Andrea Mutti, Nick Robles, and Tom Derenick.

TheFandom.net points out that James Dashner’s name is missing from the cover. It looks like he isn’t very involved in this prelude stories.
The graphic novel is set to be released this June.
