December 2020 YA Book Releases

Here’s a peek at December’s upcoming YA book releases.

Sabaa Tahir’s epic Ember in the Ashes fantasy series will come to a close next week with the publication of A Sky Beyond the Storm, which is due on shelves Dec. 1.

Tahir told Bookstacked in 2016 that she had hoped to see story elements come to fruition in future novels (at the time only two books had been picked up from her publisher).

“I had planned out everything and seeded things in Book One that I could maybe one day use,” she said at the time.

Apart from the conclusion of Tahir’s blockbuster series, YA fans will also have an anthology from We Need Diverse Books to look forward to. A Universe of Wishes, edited by author Dhonielle Clayton, will feature writing from V. E. Schwab, Zoraida Córdova, Libba Bray and many others.

Author Anna Meriano is also set to take flight in December with her novel This is How We Fly, a timely Quidditch-themed spin on the classic Cinderella tale. You’ll be able to hear Meriano in conversation with Bookstacked writer Chelsea Regan on the Bookmarked YA book podcast — the interview drops Dec. 11.

Here’s a full look at December’s other YA book releases.
